Next Generation Tracker: Fitbit Introduces Fitbit Ace 3

Fitbit has announced Fitbit Ace 3, the next-generation activity and sleep tracker that helps children six and older develop healthy habits and have fun with the whole family. In addition to the features from the Ace product range that kids already love, Ace 3 offers new animated clock faces and accessories that motivate little ones to move and express their style. With a battery that lasts up to 8 days and a water-resistant design, the Ace 3 keeps the fun high for an entire week.

Due to distance learning, the interruption of physical education hours at school and the reduction of sports activities, children spend more and more time glued to their devices. In particular, the data on individual users collected through the introductory Auditel survey confirms adolescents aged between 11 and 17 as the primary Internet users: 3,200,000 – equal to 96.1% of the total – connect expected growth of 10.7% in the last year.

But the data also show a sharp increase in hyper-connected children: 1,200,000, an increase of 11.8% in 2020, compared to an average growth in Italy of 2.4%. Here’s why, now more than ever, parents need to find new ways to help their kids stay active:

Ace 3 helps children connect with their well-being by encouraging them to stay active and sleep long enough to recharge their batteries. The tracker motivates the little ones to reach 60 daily active minutes by sending reminders to the wrist to accumulate at least 250 steps every hour: this option can be customized during school hours. Plus, kids can easily set their goals and track activity by viewing stats on the bright, intuitive touchscreen display, configure timers, and track elapsed time with the stopwatch.

Thanks to sleep monitoring, bedtime reminders and silent alarms, parents can incentivize their children to follow a more regular rest routine and develop healthy habits to live motivated every day. In the Fitbit app, kids can connect with parent-approved friends and family, participate in family challenges, and celebrate milestones with virtual medals and trophies.

Fitbit Ace 3 turns the activity into a fun game with animated clock faces that change and evolve as kids get closer to their goal throughout the day. With new Bunny, Martian and Spaceship clock faces, plus 20+ classic clock faces, kids can customize the device and make it as unique as they are. Plus, kids can change the style of the tracker by replacing the strap with interchangeable accessories. Soon, Ace 3 will be the first device that will bring some of their favourite animated characters on the wrist of children: the Minions.

With two straps available in Despicable Blue and Black Minions colors, plus new Minions features and options coming soon, And while kids stay motivated, parents rest assured that their children’s privacy is safe, as a family account can be created – strongly recommended for children under the age of 12 and mandatory for using Ace 3 – to access the controls and privacy protection options.

Using the Fitbit family account on the app, parents can access the “Parent View” and view their child’s activity, choose what to show to the children on the app, and approve friend requests. In parallel, kids can use their Ace 3 in “Child View” on the app to develop healthy habits and view critical stats, such as activity and sleep, parent-approved friends, clock faces, avatars and medals.

Thanks to the intuitive setup process with a family Fitbit account, parents can connect Ace 3 with Android and iOS devices to move with their children. Children who own a smartphone will receive call notifications directly on their wrist to stay associated with parents, family and friends at all times. Once set up and 100% charged, Ace 3 allows kids to spend less time charging the device and more moving around thanks to the battery that lasts over a week.
